The ic cement restrictor resorbable is a diaphyseal plug designed to occlude the medullary cavity before the introduction of acrylic cement during total hip arthroplasty. The ic cement restrictor resorbable prevents the cement from flowing down the diaphysis, and therefore facilitates cement pressurization. Totally biocompatible, the ic cement restrictor resorbable is completely reabsorbed within several days at 37°C and resists the temporary increase in temperature generated by the polymerization of acrylic cement.
Size spectrum:
The ic cement restrictor resorbable is available in the following six sizes:
8-10-12-14-16-18 mm
Each size corresponds to the diameter of the medullary canal to occlude.
Composition:
Gelatine (porcine-based)
Glycerol
Water
Methylparahydroxybenzoate
These components comply with European Pharmacopoeia.
