Market launch ACTINIA® with collar

Why a cementless stem with collar?

Starting June 2nd, the ACTINIA® stem with collar expands the existing system with a cementless option. The collar is designed to transfer compressive forces to the medial cortical bone, counteract stem rotation, and thereby reduce the risk of periprosthetic fracture.

ACTINIA® cementless with collar

It will be launched on June 2nd: the ACTINIA® cementless with collar. It is an extension of the proven ACTINIA® hip stem system.

Like the cementless stems without collar, it is made of TiAl6V4 and is coated with hydroxyapatite. Eleven standard sizes and ten lateralized sizes are available.

Why a cementless stem with collar?

International registries have shown that hip stems with collars have a lower revision rate and a lower risk of aseptic loosening and periprosthetic fractures.

The collar may improve implant stability by transferring compressive loads to the medial cortical bone, thus reducing stem subsidence.

It also counteracts the rotation of the stem relative to the femoral canal and thus reduces the risk of fracture.
