DiaLoc® RS hip stem

The design of the implatan® titanium alloy (TiAl6Nb7) DiaLoc® RS revision stem is closely based on the DiaLoc® primary stem. The main difference is that the distal part of the revision implant has been lengthened by between 21% (for the smallest stem option) and 27% (for the largest stem option). The tapered, rectangular cross-section of the DiaLoc® RS stem provides high axial and rotational primary stability and load transmission is intended to extend along the entire length of the device.The proximal stem features have not been changed relative to the primary version of this design. The lateral fin with fenestrations for extra fixation in the trochanteric area are both still present. Similarly the anatomic design of the inward curved region of the stem supports press-fit anchorage in the proximal femur.

The incremental sizing of the DiaLoc® range has been implemented so as to optimise patient fit. There are 8 sizes with a CCD-angle of 131°.

The very rough surface of the stems made of implatan® TiAl6Nb7 acc. to ISO 5832-11 supports the secondary osseointegration.
